Piers Morgan on offensive in latest hacking charge

0

Piers Morgan is on the offensive after yet another claim he’s involved in the British hacking scandal.

The latest hit: A 2009 interview with the BBC where he addressed shady practices on Fleet Street. “My answer was not specific. . . but a general observation about tabloid newspaper reporters and private investigators,” the CNN host said in a statement Wednesday, again denying he ever hacked a phone or published a story obtained from hacking.

He also took several swings, via Twitter, at the people he believes are responsible for dragging his name into the mess: “I don’t mind being wrongly smeared with all this #Hackgate stuff, I’d just rather it wasn’t done by liars, druggie ex-bankrupts and conmen” and “I’ll be making no further comment on this #Hackgate nonsense. But important for everyone to know exactly who these lying smearers are.”
